Karin Dreijer Andersson representa la mitad del dúo sueco The Knife (la otra mitad es su hermano Olof Dreijer), que después de su excelente disco Sillent Shout (2006) entra en receso y es justo cuando Karin aprovecha para lanzar su proyecto en solitario bajo el seudónimo de Fever Ray

Durante el 2009, Fever Ray lanza un álbum homónimo con 10 temas bajo el sello Rabid Records (perteneciente a los hermanos Dreijer), que si bien sigue de cerca el sonido de su proyecto original The Knife, esta vez aprovecha el control de la producción para crear temas más oscuros, emotivos, calmados y orgánico, llenos de misticismo y misterio.

Todos los sencillos que se desprenden del disco están acompañados de videos totalmente conceptuales con una estética sombría que se adapta a la perfección a la música, un trabajo audiovisual realmente increíble.

Este debut de Fever Ray esta lejos de ser un disco que domine los primeros puesto de las carteleras musicales, pero es un trabajo que lleva al electro pop a otro nivel, y sin duda es una de las mejores propuestas y proyectos más interesantes que nos dejó el 2009
